The video above shows how modern 21st century schools are designed. However, just designing a great school isn’t enough.
To make a new 21st century school, the design process is preceded by workshops where all stakeholders share their vision of the school. The brief to the architects must include the specific expectations of all the stake holders.
The design process must be collaborative and specific to the site and location. Including cultural elements and local materials keeps the design interesting and reduces costs.
A school created today should be flexible enough to meet the needs of the next 50 years. It should be able to adapt to changing needs, of teachers and students. It should remain modern with changing time. These challenges are not easily addressed in most designs.
